Properties of alloy X

Alloy X is a nickel-based superalloy known for its exceptional high-temperature strength, oxidation resistance, and fabricability. Alloy X was originally developed for use in gas turbine engine components but has found application in various industries due to its versatile properties. Alloy X is a valuable material in industries that require high-temperature strength, excellent oxidation resistance, and good fabricability. Its combination of properties makes it suitable for critical applications in aerospace, power generation, and heat treatment, among others. When welding Alloy X, CEWELD Alloy X is mostly used as filler metal. This welding wire is used for gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW/TIG) and gas metal arc welding (GMAW/MIG). CEWELD Alloy X is the matching wire for Alloy X and offers excellent corrosion resistance.

Corrosion resistance of Alloy X

High-Temperature Oxidation Resistance: Alloy X offers outstanding resistance to high-temperature oxidation and maintains its strength and integrity at elevated temperatures.

Carburization and Nitridation Resistance: It exhibits excellent resistance to carburization and nitridation at high temperatures, making it suitable for use in carbon and nitrogen-rich environments.

Sulfidation Resistance: Alloy X provides good resistance to sulfidation, making it suitable for applications in environments containing sulfur compounds.

Chloride-Ion Stress Corrosion Cracking (SCC) Resistance: It offers good resistance to chloride-ion stress corrosion cracking, which is important for applications in chloride-rich environments.

Creep and Rupture Strength: Alloy X has excellent creep and rupture strength at high temperatures, allowing it to withstand prolonged exposure to elevated temperatures.

Alloy X is commonly used in applications such as gas turbine engine components, industrial furnace equipment, heat-treating fixtures, and aircraft cabin heaters.
